Li Auto officially announced its entry into the Macau market on June 26, opening its first retail center on Macau’s Ilha Verde (Green Island). Local customers can now experience the Li Auto i6 and i8 models and enjoy an integrated suite of services covering vehicle purchase, delivery, and after-sales support. To comply with Macau regulations requiring specific light transmittance levels for automotive window glass, Li Auto collaborated with Fuyao Glass to develop factory-installed, dual-layer laminated non-privacy glass that meets local standards while preserving the vehicle’s acoustic insulation, safety, and thermal insulation performance. Addressing the frequent cross-border travel needs of Hong Kong and Macau users traveling to mainland China, Li Auto has localized its communication networks, intelligent cockpit systems, and navigation services to enable seamless navigation across regions. Select models support dual-SIM connectivity to ensure stable network access during cross-border use. The overseas version of Li Auto’s intelligent system also supports popular local applications such as Apple CarPlay and Spotify. Furthermore, Li Auto is working with industry partners to advance cross-border connected vehicle services, continuously enhancing the in-vehicle connectivity experience for Hong Kong and Macau users when driving in mainland China. As outlined in its previously disclosed international strategy, Li Auto plans to expand into overseas markets in phases, flexibly adopting approaches such as establishing subsidiaries, developing dealer networks, or appointing exclusive master distributors to rapidly build an integrated sales, delivery, and after-sales service system. In addition to Macau, the company plans to enter Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar starting in May 2024. In the Middle East and Central Asia, the range-extended L-series models will serve as the primary offerings, with the all-new L9 featuring targeted optimizations in charging performance and cabin climate thermal management, scheduled for launch in Q3. Pure electric models, including the i6, will be introduced to the European market in the second half of the year. Right-hand-drive versions of the MEGA are slated for launch in key Asia-Pacific markets—including Hong Kong and Singapore—by year-end.
