A set of spy photos showing a high-performance all-electric Mercedes-AMG C-Class prototype undergoing road testing near the Alps has recently surfaced. The vehicle features significantly less camouflage than previous sightings, indicating it is nearing production readiness. Externally, the test car is based on the standard C-Class Electric unveiled in April this year, featuring a fully enclosed Panamericana grille and a front bumper design closely aligned with the AMG Line aesthetic. It rides on lightweight wheels and is equipped with a high-performance braking system, including ventilated discs and gold-painted calipers. Black mirror housings and unique side skirts further emphasize its AMG identity. The interior was not visible in these latest spy shots, but it is expected to carry over the standard model’s layout, featuring the MBUX Superscreen system comprising a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central touchscreen, and a 14-inch passenger-side entertainment display. In terms of performance, the standard C400 4MATIC Electric is powered by a 94 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 482 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0–60 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds and a maximum WLTP range of up to 473 miles. Official specifications for the AMG variant have not yet been released, but sources suggest it will adopt a tri-motor configuration with an estimated peak output of around 789 horsepower. Once launched, it is expected to compete directly against the BMW M3 EV.
