On May 28, BYD unveiled its self-developed intelligent driving chip, "Xuanji A3," which has entered mass production and supports Level 3/Level 4 autonomous driving. The chip delivers a total computing power exceeding 2,100 TOPS, and when combined with BYD’s proprietary algorithm optimizations, achieves a 100% improvement in computational efficiency. According to the company's roadmap, the Xuanji A3 will debut in new mass-produced models under the Denza brand in 2025. Industry experts note that it typically takes at least one year to move an intelligent driving chip from tape-out to real-vehicle deployment, involving multiple rounds of validation for the chip, algorithm integration, and vehicle-level adaptation.
