Dongfeng Yipai M8 Surpasses 10,000 Pre-Orders

As of 24:00 on June 28, pre-sale orders for the Dongfeng Yipai M8 have exceeded 10,000 units. The model was officially unveiled on June 27 with a starting pre-sale price of RMB 199,800. As the first vehicle launched following the strategic collaboration upgrade between Dongfeng Yipai and Huawei Qiankun, the Yipai M8 integrates technological resources from Dongfeng Motor, Huawei Qiankun, and CATL. Positioned as the “Huapai Golden Standard Large Six-Seater,” it is the first model to fully feature Huawei Qiankun’s complete six-component intelligent solution suite. In terms of design, the Yipai M8 adopts the “Wind Rising, Clouds Unfolding” design language, with a body length in the 5-meter class and a wheelbase-to-length ratio of 60.3%. The vehicle features nine ADAS interaction signal lights, including a 140mm-long intelligent blue indicator light on the roof and additional blue lighting elements integrated into the side mirrors and front/rear lamp clusters. It offers five exterior color options, three interior trims, and three wheel designs. For intelligent driving, the Yipai M8 is among the first models equipped with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro, featuring 27 perception sensors—including Limera, an industry-first in-cabin LiDAR-vision fusion sensor mounted behind the windshield. Measuring just 11×3.8 cm, Limera employs a “dual-mode single-optics” architecture, enabling detection of irregular obstacles up to 115 meters away and extending detection range for small objects as tiny as 30 cm. Additionally, the vehicle is outfitted with three 4D millimeter-wave radars, eleven high-precision cameras, and twelve ultrasonic radars. Powered by the WEWA 2.0 computing architecture, its cloud-based AI training platform delivers 60 EFLOPS of computing power and has accumulated over 1 billion kilometers of training mileage. Functionally, the highway NCA (Navigate on Cruise Assist) achieves an average hands-off distance exceeding 1,500 km, while urban NCA supports complex scenarios such as roundabouts and narrow-road passing. Parking and campus navigation assistance covers over 800,000 campuses and parking lots nationwide.
