Toyota Motor Corporation reported global sales of 834,279 vehicles (including Lexus) in May 2026, down 7.2% year-over-year. Sales in China totaled 102,299 units, a decline of 31.7% compared to the same period last year. For the Toyota Group (including subsidiary Daihatsu), global sales in May reached 885,207 units, down 7.4% year-over-year. Sales in Japan rose by 6.5% to 156,639 units, while sales outside Japan fell by 9.9% to 728,568 units. In terms of electrified vehicles (including plug-in hybrids, hybrids, and fuel cell vehicles), Toyota Motor sold 467,584 electrified vehicles globally in May, an increase of 10.2% year-over-year. Electrified vehicle sales in China amounted to 70,667 units, down 10.9% compared to the same month last year.
