NIO Reveals Eight Cities Bidding to Host NIO Day 2026

NIO closed applications for hosting NIO Day 2026 at 22:00 on June 27. After an initial review of venue conditions by the organizing committee, eight cities—Changchun, Chongqing, Harbin, Jinan, Nanjing, Qingdao, Wuhan, and Xiamen—have been shortlisted as candidate host cities. The company has not yet announced the specific date or agenda for the event. Historically, NIO Day typically features major new product or technology launches. Since its inception in 2017, the event has been held annually for nine consecutive years, each time in a different city. Past editions have unveiled key models including the ES8, ES6, EC6, ET7, ET5, EC7, and ET9, as well as critical innovations such as battery swap stations, battery technologies, intelligent driving systems, and in-house developed chips. The 2024 event took place in Guangzhou, where NIO launched its new sub-brand "Firefly." The 2025 event was held in Hangzhou, featuring the debut of the all-new ES8 and marking the first time the event was moved to the autumn season.
