SAIC Volkswagen has recently unveiled the interior design, color schemes, and related technical specifications of the ID. ERA5S. As the second model in the ID. ERA series, it is also the first globally launched Volkswagen-branded sedan equipped with urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) capability. The interior features a wrap-around, integrated “Cloud Habitat Cockpit” layout inspired by whole-home interior design concepts, emphasizing spaciousness and comfort. Design elements such as trim strips and hidden air vents, window switches and door handles, and the wireless phone charging area and central air vents have been seamlessly integrated to balance aesthetics and practicality. The new vehicle offers two interior color options—“Floating Light” and “Passing Shadow”—and enhances material craftsmanship with optimized leather grain patterns. It debuts a semi-perforation process for the first time, improving both tactile feel and visual quality while reflecting Chinese aesthetic sensibilities. In terms of intelligence, the ID. ERA5S is equipped with the advanced “Xingyun ZhiXing” intelligent driving assistance system and the “Cloud Habitat Smart Cockpit,” supporting urban NOA functionality. The release of these interior details signals that the model is nearing market launch.
