Mitsubishi has confirmed that its iconic off-road SUV, the Pajero, will officially return in autumn 2026—five years after the discontinuation of the previous generation. The new model will feature a body-on-frame architecture, with a cabin and front/rear suspensions developed exclusively to balance off-road capability and on-road comfort. Inside, the all-new Pajero digitally recreates the classic triple-circular instrument cluster found on earlier generations, paying homage to the second and third generations. It also integrates real-time displays for altitude, vehicle roll and pitch angles, driving direction, ambient temperature, and torque distribution. Exterior styling maintains a rugged off-roader aesthetic, characterized by a boxy silhouette featuring a flat, robust front end, square wheel arches, raised hood and fenders, a thick C-pillar, and an almost vertical rear. The front fascia is highlighted by a T-shaped LED light signature encircling the Mitsubishi emblem. Powertrain-wise, the new Pajero is expected to incorporate electrification technology, aligning with Mitsubishi’s six-year roadmap for hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Going forward, Pajero will evolve beyond a single model into a family of vehicles, including a kei-class off-roader and a compact SUV. Further details about the new Pajero will be progressively unveiled via a dedicated website.
