On June 30, NIO unveiled the ET9 Horizon Special Edition’s new theme variant “Emerald Forest Gilded,” limited globally to just 99 units. Together with the “Polar Light Chaser” launched on June 21, it forms the ET9 Special Edition series. Both variants start at RMB 838,000; with NIO’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) subscription plan, the starting price drops to RMB 730,000, allowing customers to choose from different benefit packages. Inspired by the rainforest landscapes of Príncipe Island near the equator and the golden sheen of Arctic tern feathers, “Emerald Forest Gilded” continues the ET9 Horizon Special Edition’s “Heaven-and-Earth Dual-Tone” design philosophy. The cabin features a front-and-rear split-color seat layout, adorned with exclusive “HORIZON” badging and genuine wood trim inlaid with aluminum—crafted from North American maple wood and aerospace-grade aluminum alloy. The dashboard is accented with a bespoke rhodium-gold emblem, meticulously produced through a 36-step manufacturing process. The ET9 series measures 5,325 mm in length with a 3,250 mm wheelbase, equipped with 23-inch wheels and a 350° LiDAR surround-sensing system. It is powered by NIO’s self-developed 5nm smart driving chip and a 900V high-voltage architecture.
