Production capacity for BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery at its Xixian Base is steadily ramping up, with continuous optimization of production line operations. Located in the Qinhan Autonomous Driving Industrial Park within Xixian New Area, the facility primarily houses production lines for new energy vehicle (NEV) power battery cells and packs, along with supporting infrastructure. Since the launch of the second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charge technology in March this year, orders have surged dramatically. Current output cannot meet demand, prompting the company to accelerate capacity expansion. The Seagull 08, set to debut on July 2, is being produced in Xi’an and has already entered smooth mass production. Starting in July, vehicle output at the Caotang campus will see a significant increase. The model made its global premiere in March, featuring Flash Charge technology, rear-wheel steering, standard-fit advanced driver-assistance systems across all trims, and the Yun Nian-A intelligent body control system. It also offers multiple exterior and interior color options. Interior highlights include dual front zero-gravity seats, ventilated/heated/massaging seats throughout the cabin, welcome light carpets, electrically assisted doors on all four sides, double-glazed acoustic glass on all windows, eight magnetic accessory mounting points, and an automotive-grade tissue dispenser. Under ambient temperatures, the second-generation Blade Battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and reach 97% in nine minutes. Even at minus 30°C, charging from 20% to 97% takes only three minutes longer than under normal conditions. BYD plans to fully unleash the production capacity of its second-generation Blade Battery next year while simultaneously advancing its domestic and international market strategies to drive the global rollout of its Flash Charge ecosystem.
