On June 28, 2024, Lamborghini released a teaser image of a new Urus derivative and announced that the vehicle will make its official debut on July 1, 2026. The company stated, “A new chapter is taking shape,” adding that the global premiere will be livestreamed simultaneously on its official website and YouTube channel. The teaser shows a bright green Urus largely shrouded in shadow, but reveals two large, aggressively styled rear spoilers—one mounted above the rear windshield and another positioned centrally on the tailgate, just above the taillights. These design cues strongly suggest the new model will be a high-performance variant of the Urus, most likely the successor to the Urus Performante. The previous-generation Urus Performante was discontinued in 2024. It featured a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 657 horsepower. In contrast, the upcoming 2026 Urus SE will pair the same V8 with an electric motor to form a plug-in hybrid powertrain, delivering a combined output of 789 horsepower. The new high-performance version is expected to further boost power beyond this figure, potentially pushing the Urus lineup past the 800-horsepower threshold for the first time. Beyond enhanced performance, the new model is also anticipated to feature chassis and mechanical upgrades. Drawing from the previous Performante, which replaced the standard air suspension with a retuned fixed-rate coil spring setup, the new variant could adopt similar modifications along with a quicker-reacting rear-wheel steering system and a more rear-biased all-wheel-drive torque distribution. Exclusive elements such as carbon fiber exterior accents are also likely to return, reinforcing its high-performance identity. Previously, the Urus Performante set a new SUV class record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with a time of 10 minutes, 32.064 seconds.
