On July 2, GAC Toyota rolled out its 10 millionth vehicle at its Nansha plant in Guangzhou, becoming one of the few joint-venture automakers in China to surpass the 10-million-unit production milestone. The milestone vehicle was the bZ7, a midsize all-electric sedan priced between RMB 154,800 and RMB 214,800, offering multiple range options from 600 km to 700 km and equipped with a LiDAR-based intelligent driving system. The bZ7 is the second mass-produced model under GAC Toyota’s dedicated EV brand, bZ, and is aimed at capturing a significant share of the mainstream electric sedan market. Since its establishment in 2004, GAC Toyota has primarily focused on gasoline-powered and hybrid-electric vehicles, with core models including the Camry, Highlander, and Sienna. In the first half of 2024, the company achieved cumulative sales of 341,107 units, ranking among the top joint-venture automakers in China. In the new energy vehicle segment, its first all-electric SUV, the bZ3X, has seen steadily rising sales since launch and currently leads the joint-venture segment in the pure-electric SUV category. Following this 10-million-unit production achievement, GAC Toyota will continue advancing its “Fusion 2030” strategy, accelerating the development and rollout of electrified and intelligent vehicles.
