All variants of the Shangjie Z7 and Z7T models come standard with Huawei’s Megalodon battery platform. This platform employs an upright cell architecture, with cell terminals oriented upward to avoid high-risk areas prone to underbody impacts, thereby reducing the likelihood of high-voltage arcing and thermal runaway caused by collisions. The Megalodon battery platform features a 15-layer protection system, incorporating materials such as aerogel and mica sheets, and integrates with the BMS (Battery Management System) to enable 24/7 cloud-based monitoring. This allows for early detection of potential safety risks and timely implementation of countermeasures. The upright cell architecture is a mature solution validated by extensive market use, supported by a well-established production system and highly standardized processes, ensuring consistency and stability in mass-produced batteries while minimizing unknown safety hazards.
