At the Chinese debut event of the XPeng MONA L03, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPeng Inc., addressed rumors regarding the departure of Juan Ma Lopez, the former Ferrari designer. He clarified that Lopez has not left the company and remains with XPeng Motors, emphasizing that the MONA L03 is Lopez’s first project since joining XPeng. The vehicle was led by Lopez in collaboration with a global design team comprising members from 23 countries. Juan Ma Lopez joined XPeng Motors in 2024 as Vice President of the Styling Design Center, overseeing management and design decisions for the center. Prior to this, he spent eight years at Ferrari as Head of Exterior Design, contributing to the design and development of multiple iconic models, including the LaFerrari.
