BYD Seagull 08 Launches with PHEV and EV Variants, Featuring Standard Ultra-Fast Charging and Advanced ADAS

BYD Ocean Network’s flagship sedan, the Seagull 08, has officially launched, offering both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants starting at RMB 196,900. Buyers will enjoy 12 months of complimentary ultra-fast charging privileges and comprehensive safety and loss coverage for one year after delivery, specifically for urban navigation and intelligent parking scenarios. PHEV models include: - 400km Deluxe (RMB 196,900) - 400km Flagship (RMB 206,900) - 350km AWD Flagship (RMB 229,900) BEV models include: - 775km Deluxe (RMB 196,900) - 905km Flagship (RMB 216,900) - 785km AWD Flagship (RMB 239,900) The vehicle is available in six solid exterior colors—Obsidian Black, Sea Mist Purple, Luster Silver, Akah Coral Red, and Cloud Mist White—as well as two exclusive two-tone options: High-Gloss Quantum Silver + Poseidon Green and Luster Silver + Sea Mist Purple. Interior color choices include Cloud Frost Beige, Dawn Light Beige, Sunset Brown, and Nightfall Purple. Measuring 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,505 mm tall with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, the Seagull 08 features an unobstructed C-pillar design for enhanced visibility and comes standard across all trims with rear-wheel steering. The PHEV variant delivers a CLTC-rated pure-electric range of up to 400 km and a combined range of 1,660 km, while the BEV version achieves a maximum CLTC range of 905 km. All models are equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, making the Seagull 08 the first BYD model to offer ultra-fast charging as standard across both PHEV and BEV lineups. For driver assistance, every trim features the “God’s Eye B – LiDAR-assisted Driving System,” which supports AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) and provides dual-layer safety coverage for intelligent parking and urban navigation functions. In terms of features, the Seagull 08 includes front zero-gravity seats, with all seats offering ventilation, heating, and massage functions. Additional amenities include welcome light carpets, power-closing doors on all four sides, acoustic laminated glass throughout, eight magnetic accessory mounting points, an automotive-grade tissue dispenser, and a 20-speaker Devialet premium sound system. The rear cabin is claimed to offer class-leading space, complemented by 40 storage compartments throughout the cabin. BEV models further add a 160L electric front trunk with six opening modes. Performance-wise, select variants accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and achieve a minimum turning radius of 4.95 meters. The vehicle is equipped with BYD’s proprietary Cloud Ride-A closed-loop dual-chamber air suspension system featuring road-preview capability. Additionally, the Seagull 08 debuts “DiDi Shrimp,” an AI-powered intelligent assistant, and integrates with BYD’s open ecosystem platform and Theme Store.
