Starting July 1, 2026, the "Safety Requirements for Traction Batteries Used in Electric Vehicles" (GB 38031-2025) will officially take effect. Dubbed the "strictest-ever battery safety regulation," this standard sets a new benchmark for EV battery safety. Changan Automobile announced that its self-developed "Jinzhongzhao" (Golden Bell Shield) battery completed all tests required by the new standard in May 2025, making Changan one of the first automakers in the industry to achieve certification under the updated regulations. Since 2022, Changan has prioritized the goal of "no fire, no explosion" and proactively aligned its thermal safety design with the upcoming national standard. The Jinzhongzhao battery features a novel thermal insulation material, delivering 30% better thermal insulation performance than the industry average. It also incorporates the world’s first pulse-heating technology, achieving a heating rate exceeding 4°C per minute at -30°C—boosting low-temperature power performance by over 55% and reducing charging time by more than 30%. With a cycle life exceeding 5,000 cycles, the battery shows no perceptible degradation in performance even after a vehicle has traveled 600,000 kilometers. Additionally, it is already mass-produced with a 6C high-voltage fast-charging solution, enabling a 30%–80% state-of-charge replenishment in just 9 minutes. Changan Automobile is also introducing two user protection measures: First, all sold and currently available models equipped with the Jinzhongzhao battery fully comply with the two new mandatory national standards. Second, for non-commercial first owners, Changan offers lifetime warranty coverage on the entire "three-electric" system—including the traction battery, drive motor, motor controller, and vehicle controller.
