On July 2 local time, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao chaired a roundtable meeting with Chinese-funded enterprises in the UK in London. Heads of over ten Chinese companies operating in sectors including finance, insurance, new energy, automotive, retail, and telecommunications, along with the head of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK, attended the meeting. They presented updates on their operations in the UK and raised specific requests regarding safeguarding overseas interests and expanding practical cooperation. Wang noted that China-UK economic and trade relations have deepened steadily in recent years, becoming a key pillar of bilateral ties. Facing a complex and volatile international environment, Chinese-funded enterprises in the UK have actively addressed challenges, deepened their engagement in the local market, achieved solid economic results, and made positive contributions to China-UK economic and trade cooperation. He suggested that both sides further enhance collaboration in areas such as services, innovation, and third-party cooperation. He also called on Chinese-funded enterprises in the UK to strengthen self-discipline, engage in orderly competition, uphold the overall image of Chinese businesses, and enhance their capabilities in international operations and risk management.
