U.S. electric vehicle maker Rivian has raised its full-year delivery target for 2026. The company delivered 12,194 vehicles in the second quarter, up more than 14% year-over-year and significantly exceeding market expectations of around 10,600 units; production during the same period totaled 12,613 vehicles. The increase in deliveries was primarily driven by sustained strong demand for its commercial vans and R1 series models, as well as the commencement of deliveries for its new R2 SUV in June. Boosted by this news, the company's stock surged more than 15% on July 2, reaching an intraday high of $19.79—the highest level since January 9.
