Tesla has now opened orders for the Model Y Long Wheelbase (Model YL) to consumers in the United States and Puerto Rico. This variant features a three-row, six-seat configuration and was previously launched in the Chinese market in 2023. Although Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated in August 2023 that production of this model in the U.S. would not begin before late 2026—and might even be canceled due to advancements in autonomous vehicles—the vehicle is now available for purchase in the U.S. market.
