GAC Group Sells 773,100 Vehicles in H1, with Self-Branded Exports Surging 132%

GAC Group sold a total of 773,100 vehicles in the first half of 2024, an increase of 2.35% year-over-year. Among these, energy-efficient and new energy vehicles accounted for 62.82% of total sales. In June alone, the company sold 144,900 vehicles, down 3.47% year-over-year. Its self-owned brands delivered outstanding performance, with cumulative sales of 346,000 units in the first half, up 35.69% year-over-year. The Hyper & Aion Business Unit (BU) sold 181,600 vehicles, surging 67.08% year-over-year, with over 80% of its customers being retail (C-end) buyers. GAC Trumpchi recorded sales of 164,400 units, up 12.36% year-over-year, and its MPV family has surpassed cumulative sales of 880,000 units. In the joint venture segment, GAC Toyota sold 356,000 vehicles in the first half, an increase of 3.29% year-over-year, ranking first among all joint-venture automakers for three consecutive months. Its locally developed all-electric model, the bZ3X, became the best-selling joint-venture EV in the first half. Meanwhile, GAC Honda saw its June sales jump 55.65% month-over-month. Overseas markets also showed remarkable growth: self-owned brands exported 121,500 vehicles in the first half, soaring 132% year-over-year—nearly matching their full-year 2023 export volume—with strong growth achieved across all five major regions: the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Additionally, GT7, the debut model of “Qijing,” GAC Group’s premium brand co-developed with Huawei, was launched at the end of June and garnered over 5,200 firm orders within 24 hours.
