Fresh spy shots of the new Audi Q9 flagship SUV's "Horch" variant have surfaced. Although the front grille remains partially camouflaged, it clearly features vertical slats rather than temporary coverings. Measuring over 5 meters in length with a wheelbase exceeding 3 meters, the Q9 is positioned as a full-size luxury SUV. Pricing is expected to start at no less than €120,000 (approximately RMB 931,000), targeting rivals such as the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. The prototype is currently undergoing extensive long-distance validation testing, focusing on identifying squeaks and rattles while evaluating ride comfort under extreme conditions. The grille’s slats are wrapped in protective film, hinting that the production version may feature premium finishes like satin chrome. At the rear, the license plate has been relocated lower onto the bumper, complemented by hidden exhaust tips and flattened trim elements to enhance its sporty character. Inside, the cabin features a curved central touchscreen, with an optional passenger-side entertainment display available. Seating configurations will include multiple layouts: standard seven-seat (2+3+2), six-seat (2+2+2), five-seat, and a four-seat executive variant. Higher trims offer rear seats with multi-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions—delivering comfort levels on par with or even surpassing those of the Audi A8. Powertrain options are expected to include a 3.0-liter V6 TDI diesel engine and a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine. All variants will come standard with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Plug-in hybrid versions are likely to follow, particularly for markets like Europe. The global debut of the new Q9 is anticipated later this month.
