Tesla Sweeps Top Three Spots in EV Resale Value Rankings for Three-Year-Old Models

The June 2026 China Automotive Residual Value Research Report shows that among three-year-old all-electric vehicles, the Tesla Model 3, Model X, and Model Y ranked top three with residual values of 61.2%, 60.5%, and 54.2%, respectively. The BYD Seagull came in fourth at 51%, followed by the Porsche Taycan at 50.6%. Home-use new energy MPVs such as the Zeekr 009, Roewe iMAX8 EV, and Denza D9 all posted residual values around 50%. Models like the Baojun Yueye and NIO ET5 recorded residual values close to 49%, while domestic premium models including the NIO ES6, ET5 Touring, and Avatr 12 clustered around the 47% mark. The report noted that Tesla benefits from high transaction volumes in the used-car market, strong brand recognition, and a stable vehicle iteration cycle, whereas some domestic models suffer from lower residual values due to frequent updates and relatively low ownership bases.
