BYD Smart Cockpit UI Design Contest Concludes; 12 Winning Entries Announced, Grand Prize Design to Feature in Seagull 08

The BYD Intelligent Cockpit UI Design Competition concluded on July 5, with a total of 12 winning entries selected. The first-prize design will be implemented in the all-new mass-production Seagull 08 model. Co-initiated by BYD together with the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Jiangnan University, and Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, the competition centered on the theme of “emotional value” and received hundreds of design submissions. Following multiple rounds of evaluation, the shortlisted works include: - **“Echoes of Heart Waves · Rising Tides, Shared Journey”**: Creates an intelligent emotional cockpit centered around the virtual companion “Xiao Hai,” integrating anthropomorphic interactions and context-aware care features to foster a warm, companionable space. - **“Voyage of the Heart Sea”**: Transforms the driving experience into a nautical journey, employing a glass-morphism and light skeuomorphic interface style combined with generative technology to dynamically reflect real-time environmental data, crafting an immersive atmosphere. - **“‘Bao Bao’ is Here — Emotional HMI Design Upgrade Featuring an Evolving Pet Companion”**: Introduces “Bao Bao,” a customizable IP character whose form evolves based on the user’s driving behaviors, delivering dynamic feedback across various driving scenarios. - **“HugMe”**: Incorporates BYD’s family-oriented Ocean Series IP, where the baby seagull’s expressions and states respond to users’ lifestyles and driving contexts, complemented by dynamic wallpapers that automatically shift with time and trip progress. - **“PERISCOPE”**: Inspired by cyberpunk submarine control panels, it blends industrial aesthetics with deep-sea ambiance, supporting customizable 3D vehicle models and geographic coordinate displays to emphasize immersion and emotional connection. - **“Yu Yue (Leap)”**: Reimagines the human-car relationship through oceanic navigation.
