XPeng Motors announced that its new model, the MONA L03, will be the first vehicle to feature the Driver Incapacitation Assistance System. This system can automatically steer the vehicle to a safe stop on the roadside and initiate an emergency call for assistance if it detects that the driver has lost the ability to operate the vehicle during highway-assisted driving. The company has already released a real-world demonstration video of this feature. A vice president of XPeng stated that the functionality will later be expanded via OTA updates to cover regular road scenarios, enabling end-to-end autonomous emergency response. The MONA L03’s pre-sale pricing was unveiled on July 2, starting at RMB 143,800, with official market launch scheduled for July 16. Positioned as a smart, stylish SUV targeting young consumers, the vehicle will be available in both all-electric and extended-range variants, equipped with Turing chips delivering 1,500 TOPS of computing power and XPeng’s second-generation VLA intelligent driving system.
