Fiat Topolino Hits U.S. Market at $14,985, America's Cheapest New Car

The Fiat Topolino, a micro all-electric city car, is now on sale in the United States with a price of $14,985 including destination fees—or $13,995 excluding them—making it the least expensive new vehicle available in the U.S. market. The car delivers a maximum output of 8 horsepower and has a top speed of approximately 31 km/h (19 mph). It is powered by a 5.0 kWh battery, offering a full-charge range of about 74 km (46 miles) and requiring roughly five hours to recharge using a standard AC outlet. Standard features on the Topolino include LED headlights and taillights, exterior mirrors, seat belts, a digital instrument cluster, a smartphone holder, a USB-C charging port, and 14-inch wheels. Externally, it is offered exclusively in Verde Vita green paint. Two versions are available: the standard model comes with two hinged doors and a sunroof, while the Dolce Vita version omits doors entirely, featuring rope-style side guards and a fabric soft top instead. Both variants carry the same price. In the U.S., the Topolino is currently classified as a four-wheeled vehicle rather than a conventional passenger car. Fiat plans to offer a free road-legal conversion kit later this year that will increase its top speed to approximately 40 km/h (25 mph), enabling it to meet the U.S. definition of a “low-speed vehicle” and allowing operation on roads with speed limits of 40 km/h (25 mph) or lower.
