On July 8, the Hainan Provincial Government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. (CATARC). Under the agreement, both parties will establish an irregular high-level leadership meeting mechanism as well as a regular communication, liaison, and collaborative working mechanism. They will jointly support CATARC in establishing six centers in Hainan focused on: policy and standards research, tropical-region calibration and testing, import-export services, intelligent and connected vehicle testing, new energy and energy conservation/emission reduction, and automotive culture tourism and aftermarket services—aligning with Hainan’s development as a clean energy island.
