In June, nationwide automobile production and sales reached 2.76 million and 2.81 million units, respectively—up 5.5% and 6.9% month-over-month but down 1.2% and 3.2% year-over-year. From January to June, cumulative production and sales totaled 14.993 million and 15.017 million units, respectively, representing year-over-year declines of 4.0% and 4.1%, with the rate of decline narrowing compared to the first five months. Domestic vehicle sales in June amounted to 1.773 million units, up 4.3% month-over-month but down 23.3% year-over-year. Of these, domestic sales of conventional fuel vehicles reached 654,000 units, up 0.5% month-over-month but down 45% year-over-year. Domestic NEV sales in June reached 1.12 million units, up 6.7% month-over-month but down 0.4% year-over-year. Specifically, domestic sales of NEV passenger cars totaled 1.007 million units, up 6.3% month-over-month but down 4.5% year-over-year; domestic sales of NEV commercial vehicles reached 113,000 units, up 9.9% month-over-month and 61% year-over-year. From January to June, domestic NEV sales totaled 5.09 million units, down 13.4% year-over-year; of these, NEV passenger car sales reached 4.594 million units, down 16.8% year-over-year, while NEV commercial vehicle sales totaled 496,000 units, up 40.2% year-over-year. In June, NEV exports surpassed 1 million units for the first time.
