Domestic large SUV retail sales data for June shows that the Aito M9 ranked first among individual models with 10,070 units sold. The NIO ES8 came in second with 8,966 units, followed by the ES9 in third place with 8,595 units. Combined, the ES8 and ES9 achieved sales of 17,561 units—surpassing the Aito M9—and secured the title of best-selling large SUV brand. Since its delivery launch in September 2024, the NIO ES8 has consistently topped the sales charts for large SUVs and vehicles priced above RMB 400,000 for six consecutive months. In May alone, it recorded retail sales of 11,472 units. The ES9, launched on May 27, entered the top three in June just weeks after its debut. With a starting price of RMB 498,000 and an average transaction price exceeding RMB 450,000, it commands over 60% of the market share in the pure-electric large SUV segment priced above RMB 400,000. Deliveries of its six-seat version with center aisle began on July 6. Additionally, the five-seat variant of the NIO ES8 officially launched on July 9, further expanding the product lineup. Industry data from May indicates that in the three-row large SUV segment, monthly sales of pure-electric models have surpassed those of extended-range and plug-in hybrid models, making BEVs the leading powertrain type in this细分 market. The NIO ES8, ES9, and Leapmotor D19 BEV version are jointly driving the adoption of pure-electric vehicles in this segment.
