On July 9, NIO launched the ES8 Large Five-Seater variant. Built on the NT3.0 platform, this model leverages a dedicated EV architecture to achieve a separated passenger and cargo layout, featuring a 230L front trunk and a 1,334L rear cargo area—including a 268L sunken hidden compartment and a tri-fold privacy partition panel. According to the company, its storage capacity can accommodate 21 pieces of luggage for five passengers on long-distance trips. The new model is equipped with a full-domain 900V high-voltage architecture and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a combined output of 520 kW and peak torque of 700 N·m, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.97 seconds. All variants come standard with a 102 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of 655 km. The seating configuration includes dual zero-gravity seats in the front row and dual quasi-zero-gravity seats in the rear. All four seats recline fully flat (180 degrees) and feature three-level heating, ventilation, and multi-mode massage functions. Both driver and front passenger seats offer 20-way electric adjustment, while the rear seats also provide multiple adjustment options. Interior features include a 21.4-inch MiniLED panoramic display, the Tianqin 8.1.4.2 immersive audio system, and an 8.8L smart refrigerator with electric opening and closing. The vehicle has undergone 122 aerodynamic optimizations, resulting in an excellent drag coefficient.
