Horse Powertrain recently received the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Award from the Confederación de Empresarios de Andalucía (CEA), a prominent business and employers’ organization in Spain’s Andalusia region. The award recognizes companies demonstrating outstanding performance in sustainability and corporate social responsibility. This recognition highlights Horse Powertrain’s contributions to reducing carbon emissions in global transportation, including its continuous development of high-efficiency internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrain solutions, as well as its advancements in alternative fuel technologies such as methanol. As a powertrain company with both Chinese and European roots, Horse Powertrain has established a dedicated ESG compliance team in China to drive enterprise-wide ESG integration and collaborates closely with OEM customers to develop powertrain solutions aligned with global standards. For example, in partnership with Geely, the two companies are working together on supply chain decarbonization, green factory operations, and carbon-neutral product development—supporting Geely’s goal to rank among the top five automakers globally by S&P Global by 2026. Across the entire industrial value chain, Horse Powertrain has implemented multiple ESG initiatives: sourcing low-carbon materials such as recycled aluminum and steel in its supply chain; achieving 100% green electricity usage across all manufacturing sites, with its hybrid powertrain plants in Baoji and Yiwu certified as “Green Factories” by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; and focusing its product portfolio on efficiency, electrification, intelligence, and carbon-neutral energy solutions. On the social front, Horse Powertrain has earned Great Place to Work® certification for two consecutive years. Its 2026 certification shows a 96% global employee participation rate and an overall score of 86%—well above the global benchmark of 70% and a 2-percentage-point improvement over the previous cycle. Horse Powertrain embeds ESG compliance into the forefront of its global strategy, integrating it throughout product development, supply chain management, and production operations to meet diverse regional regulations and market demands, thereby building long-term global competitiveness.
