London's High Court on Friday dismissed the majority of claims in a massive class-action lawsuit brought by approximately 1.6 million UK car owners against automakers including Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Stellantis (Peugeot-Citroën), Renault, and Nissan. The lawsuit alleged that these manufacturers manipulated emissions data for diesel vehicles, seeking billions of pounds in damages. The court's ruling largely favored the automakers, significantly reducing their exposure to potentially enormous legal liabilities.
