In the latest batch of new vehicle applications released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the all-new BYD Seagull has made its debut, featuring notable upgrades in both exterior design and dimensions. The front fascia adopts sharp character lines paired with slim headlights, delivering a more striking visual presence. The vehicle measures 4,205 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm—representing increases of 425 mm in length and 150 mm in wheelbase compared to the current model, bringing its overall size closer to that of the BYD Dolphin. The side profile features hidden B-, C-, and D-pillars, upward-sloping window lines, and semi-flush door handles. The rear end adopts a cleaner design with inverted trapezoidal taillights and a centrally positioned “BYD” emblem. The curb weight is 1,180 kg, with a gross vehicle weight of 1,555 kg. The top speed is rated at 150 km/h, and all tires are uniformly sized at 205/60 R16. The new Seagull offers multiple exterior customization options, including fender garnishes, side skirt trim, various wheel designs, a version without D-pillar trim, and different badging styles. It can also be optionally equipped with a LiDAR sensor, providing the hardware foundation for advanced driver-assistance systems. Powering the vehicle is a pure electric drivetrain featuring a permanent-magnet synchronous motor with a maximum output of 95 kW, paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The estimated driving range is expected to remain between 305 and 405 kilometers.
