On July 11, the latest filing information from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed the official debut of BYD’s new-generation Tang EV. The vehicle adopts BYD’s family design language, featuring the brand’s signature “Dragon Whisker” front-end styling. It measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm and both front and rear tracks measuring 1,700 mm. Customers can choose between 20-inch and 21-inch wheels. The rear features a full-width light bar styled to resemble a Chinese knot. Optional exterior features include LiDAR, two-tone body paint, and either fixed or electric running boards, while a panoramic glass roof is standard. The interior offers seating configurations for either five or seven passengers. The version listed in this filing is equipped with a single motor, delivering a maximum output of 300 kW and a top speed of 250 km/h. The new model will be powered by BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, supporting ultra-fast charging and extended range capabilities. The expected starting price is approximately RMB 200,000.
