Xiaomi Auto Unveils Pengcheng Series Lineup and Testing Progress

Xiaomi Auto plans to launch two variants of its Pengcheng series: a five-seater and a seven-seater, positioned respectively as mid-to-large and full-size SUVs. This new series runs parallel to the SU7/YU7 lineup and focuses on the concept of an “intelligent, flexible large-space SUV,” emphasizing adaptable interior space. Preparations for the Pengcheng series’ official launch are progressing steadily, with specific details such as the release date to be announced separately. Users can access the Pengcheng model page via the Xiaomi Auto app and click “Reserve Consultation” to register. Those who complete registration will receive priority notifications regarding key milestones, including pre-orders and market launch. According to filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), certain specifications of the Pengcheng series have already been disclosed. While prioritizing spacious interiors, the vehicle has also undergone targeted driving dynamics optimizations—such as refined suspension tuning and steering feel—to enhance ease of handling and safety for a large SUV. As of June 30, 2026, Xiaomi has deployed 566 Pengcheng test vehicles, accumulating 4.28 million kilometers of real-world road testing across diverse and demanding environments, including extreme cold, high heat, high-altitude regions, and urban settings. The testing program encompasses validation at the component, system, and full-vehicle levels and has progressed through phases of heavy camouflage, light camouflage, and now complete de-camouflaging. Recently, test vehicles have begun shedding their camouflage wraps as final pre-launch validation continues.
