The 2026 Global Top 100 Automotive Suppliers list reveals that the number of Chinese companies on the ranking has increased to 20, with their combined revenue share rising from 14% to 17.2%, surpassing the United States to rank third globally. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) jumped from 7th to 3rd place, becoming the first Chinese supplier to break into the global top three. Meanwhile, traditionally dominant regions showed signs of decline: Japan maintained 20 companies on the list, but its revenue share dropped from 20.3% to 18.9%; the U.S. saw its representation shrink to 13 companies, with revenue share falling from 15.8% to 12.2%; and South Korea was left with only seven firms, facing significant operational pressures. Europe retained its position as the top region by revenue share at 38.9%, though its growth largely stemmed from recovery in existing businesses rather than new drivers of expansion. Data also shows that the revenue share of the top 10 suppliers declined from 37.1% to 33.9%, and that of the top 20 fell from 53.9% to 51.9%, reflecting how emerging players are rapidly capturing market share. In the ongoing shift toward electrification, traction batteries have become a core vehicle component, enabling Chinese battery makers to secure high-value positions in the supply chain. Besides CATL, Gotion High-Tech and CALB also made their debut on the Top 100 list. Intelligentization is simultaneously reshaping the supply chain. The automotive electronics segment recorded the industry’s highest R&D intensity at 6.8%. Luxshare Precision entered the ranking for the first time at No. 66, while Desay SV continued its upward trajectory. Although Huawei did not submit data for the ranking, its Intelligent Automotive Solutions business generated RMB 45.018 billion in revenue in 2025, up 72% year-over-year—enough to place it around No. 50 if included. To date, nine automotive brands have adopted Huawei’s full-stack solution, with seven of them relying on Huawei to lead product definition, development, and marketing. Today, tech companies possessing full-stack capabilities in chips, computing platforms, software, and algorithms are transitioning from traditional Tier-N roles to deeply engaging in vehicle development, accelerating the eastward shift of the global automotive supply chain’s center of gravity.
