BYD Qin MAX Teased: Plug-in Hybrid and EV Versions with Flash Charging Across All Trims

BYD has released official teaser images of the all-new midsize sedan, the Qin MAX, part of its Dynasty Series. The vehicle has already been registered with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), positioning it above the Qin L in the lineup. It will be offered in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, with all models featuring BYD’s standard Flash Charging energy replenishment system. The Qin MAX measures 4,866 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm—dimensions that rival mainstream B-segment sedans. Styling follows BYD’s latest family design language, highlighted by upward-sweeping headlights and a closed-off front fascia. A three-section air intake enhances its sporty appearance. The side profile features semi-recessed door handles and multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the rear is distinguished by a horizontal illuminated light bar for improved visual identity. Powered by BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging technology, the Qin MAX can fast-charge from 10% to 70% state of charge in just five minutes, and achieve a full charge from 10% to 97% in only nine minutes. Even in extreme cold conditions as low as -30°C, charging time increases by merely three minutes. In terms of powertrains, the PHEV variant pairs a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a 175 kW electric motor. The BEV version offers two single-motor configurations: one rated at 120 kW and another at 240 kW. These are mated to Blade Battery packs with capacities of 52.868 kWh and 64.315 kWh, respectively, delivering CLTC-rated ranges of 530 km and 630 km.
