Xiaomi's first extended-range SUV under its automotive brand—Xiaomi Pengcheng—has undergone 626 days of road testing since the first prototype hit the road on October 12, 2024. A total of 566 test vehicles have been deployed, accumulating a combined test mileage of 4.28 million kilometers. The testing program encompasses both proving grounds and real-world road conditions across multiple regions in China, aiming to validate and enhance the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and overall quality. The tests have covered a range of extreme environments: including Heihe, where temperatures dropped as low as -41°C; the Turpan Basin, with highs reaching 53°C; and the Ngari region in Tibet at an altitude of 5,380 meters—all designed to thoroughly evaluate the vehicle’s performance and reliability under extreme cold, high heat, and high-altitude conditions. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has personally participated in multiple winter tests in Heihe and summer tests in Turpan, and joined on-site testing in the Pamir Plateau in October 2024. Currently, the launch and market release of the Xiaomi Pengcheng are progressing as scheduled, with specific details regarding its official unveiling to be announced soon.
