On July 12, BYD surpassed the milestone of delivering over 130,000 new energy vehicles in the Thai market, marking the occasion with the delivery of its 130,000th vehicle—the BYD SEALION 5 DM-i—to actress Usa Samkham, who portrayed “Grandma” in the film *Dear Grandma*. On the same day, BYD celebrated the second anniversary of production at its Thailand plant and officially launched the BYD SEALION 5 DM-i in the country. Located in WHA Eastern Industrial Estate in Rayong Province, the Thailand plant is BYD’s first overseas passenger vehicle manufacturing facility, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. It currently localizes production of five models: BYD DOLPHIN, BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEAL 5 DM-i, BYD SEALION 5 DM-i, and BYD SEALION 6 DM-i—all of which have received the “Made in Thailand” (MiT) certification from the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). Previously, on November 27, 2025, the plant rolled out its 70,000th vehicle—a BYD Sealion 6—delivered to outstanding employee Pattaraporn.
