Smart driving solutions provider Minieye and DiDi Freight, the freight platform under DiDi, have recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement for nationwide autonomous logistics operations. The two parties will adopt a "vehicle supply + platform dispatching" model to advance the large-scale deployment of Level 4 (L4) autonomous delivery vehicles in urban last-mile logistics scenarios. Under the agreement, Minieye will provide compliant, mass-produced L4 autonomous logistics vehicles from its Xiao Zhu series, including the Xiao Zhu T5 Pro model equipped with its proprietary "True Mapless" technology, along with a full-cycle autonomous driving software system and an after-sales maintenance network. DiDi Freight will open its app and mini-program ordering interfaces and integrate the autonomous vehicles into its intra-city freight network through its self-developed intelligent dispatching engine. The partners plan to initially launch a one-stop service—"one-click ordering, autonomous delivery"—for commercial customers in Foshan, evaluating potential expansion to other cities based on real-world operational data. Currently, the Xiao Zhu series of autonomous vehicles has been deployed across 18 cities nationwide, serving applications such as parcel last-mile delivery, intra-city freight, and on-demand logistics. In this collaboration, Minieye will leverage its mass-production and delivery capabilities to continuously optimize the performance of autonomous vehicles in complex urban distribution environments, while DiDi Freight will integrate cloud-based decision-making and vehicle-road coordination infrastructure to jointly build an integrated smart logistics ecosystem encompassing "cargo, network, vehicles, cloud, and roads." The Ministry of Public Security’s new traffic management regulations for L4 autonomous driving, which took effect this month, provide clear institutional support regarding road rights and testing standards for autonomous logistics vehicles, helping accelerate commercialization. The two parties will next explore replicating this model in additional cities based on pilot operations in Foshan.
