Tesla Says Vehicles Can Last Over 15 Years with Annual Mileage of 20,000 km

Tesla officially announced that its vehicles can last over 15 years under an average annual mileage of 20,000 kilometers. The company noted that electric vehicles have a significantly simpler structure compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, lacking complex mechanical components such as engines and transmissions. Tesla’s powertrain contains only about 20 moving parts—far fewer than the more than 2,000 found in conventional ICE vehicles—resulting in substantially reduced maintenance and repair needs. Tesla also demonstrated a rain test, simulating rainfall intensity twice that of the Guinness World Record for the highest rainfall per unit time. To date, Tesla has surpassed 9 million cumulative global vehicle deliveries. According to its latest Impact Report, sold Model 3 and Model Y vehicles retain an average battery health of 80% after accumulating 320,000 kilometers of driving. Additionally, authoritative research shows that Tesla enjoys an 87% brand loyalty rate among its customers—the highest among all passenger vehicle brands.
