Unlaunched Xiaomi EV Targeted by AI-Generated Crash Video

From:Internet Info Agency 2026-07-14 23:24:09

Xiaomi recently responded to online rumors targeting its unreleased vehicle, the Pengcheng N90 (codenamed SkyNomad). Although the model has not yet been officially launched, negative search terms such as "cause of fire," "accident details," "owner维权" (owner维权 translates to "owner rights protection" but is often used in context of complaints or protests), "car explosion," and "crash scene" have already appeared in the search bars of multiple social media platforms. Verified investigations confirmed that the widely circulated crash videos on these platforms were AI-generated content, and Beijing Daily has verified them as false information. Xiaomi stated that such actions constitute malicious rumor-mongering and defamation, severely disrupting normal business operations. The company is currently gathering evidence and filing complaints with relevant platforms for action. The senior engineer emphasized that AI does not autonomously generate rumors—such activities inevitably involve human orchestration, financial backing, and profit motives—and warned that if left unchecked, these behaviors would pose a threat to all brands.
