BMW iX4 Spied Testing on Nürburgring: All-Electric Coupe SUV Launching Next Year

The all-new BMW iX4 has recently undergone dynamic testing at the Nürburgring circuit, with spy photos from the road tests now publicly revealed. The vehicle is scheduled for launch in most global markets next year. It made its first appearance earlier this year during winter testing. The iX4 features improved overall aerodynamics compared to the current iX3. Its front fascia is expected to carry over the iX3’s design language, incorporating headlights and the signature kidney grille developed under BMW’s Neue Klasse architecture. Key differences lie in the upper body structure and rear styling: the iX4 boasts a lower roofline, a more steeply raked rear window, and a shorter rear end, together forming a classic fastback SUV silhouette. A subtle rear lip spoiler further enhances its aerodynamic efficiency. The test vehicle spotted this time is equipped with a newly designed set of 22-inch wheels, featuring a different造型 from previous versions. Inside, the iX4 will retain the iX3’s cabin layout, differing only in minor trim details and materials. It will also feature BMW’s Panoramic iDrive intelligent cockpit system—previously introduced on the new X5. The cockpit adopts a layered screen setup, with an ultra-slim, panoramic instrument display on top and a 17.9-inch central touchscreen below. In terms of powertrain, the iX4 will be offered in multiple variants, with an estimated range comparable to that of the iX3. According to previously leaked information from BMW USA’s official website, the initial lineup will include the iX4 xDrive40 and iX4 xDrive50. The xDrive50 variant is expected to use the same 108.7 kWh battery pack and dual-motor all-wheel-drive system as the iX3. BMW also plans to later introduce a high-performance iX4 M variant featuring four motors, unique chassis tuning, and performance-enhancing components to further elevate its sporty dynamics.
