Honda to Equip Multiple U.S. Models with Google's Gemini Assistant for Natural Language Interaction

American Honda Motor Co. announced it will integrate Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, into multiple vehicle models equipped with Google Built-In. The affected models include the Civic, Accord, Prelude, CR-V, and Pilot. By simply signing in to their Google account, users can interact with Gemini using natural language—without needing fixed command phrases or repeating information they’ve already provided. Over time, Gemini enhances its understanding, recognizes more nuanced requests, proactively clarifies details when necessary, and handles multi-step commands. For example, users can issue complex requests such as, “I need to grab lunch—find me a few highly rated sit-down restaurants along my route. I’m not in a rush, and by the way, I’d like to eat outdoors,” moving beyond simple commands like, “Hey Google, find the nearest place for lunch.”
