On July 16, Zhijie Auto announced that its integrated electromagnetic thermal control die-cast component won the "Gold Award Casting" among 88 entries at the 2026 Shanghai International Die Casting Exhibition. This technology combines electromagnetic regulation with a nano-scale thermal control layer inside the mold, enhancing precision control during the forming process compared to conventional integrated die casting. In terms of process, the technology uses electromagnetic fields to optimize molten aluminum flow, reducing air entrapment during mold filling and enabling smoother, more uniform filling of complex molds—significantly lowering internal porosity in large body castings. The nano thermal control layer within the mold adjusts heat exchange according to different stages of die casting: it provides thermal insulation during mold filling to stabilize aluminum flow and minimize cold shuts, and rapidly conducts heat during intensification and holding phases to accelerate solidification. This approach nearly doubles the cooling temperature gradient and increases cooling speed by approximately 20% compared to traditional high-pressure die casting. With this technology, internal porosity in large body castings is significantly reduced, and consistent quality is achieved between near and far ends of the mold. Combined with high-strength aluminum alloys, yield strength improves by over 55%. Additionally, 78 individual parts are consolidated into a single component, eliminating 760 weld points and reducing structural weight by 15.5%. This technology has already been applied to the rear floor assembly of the Zhijie V9. Coupled with the vehicle’s high proportion (91.6%) of advanced high-strength steel and aluminum alloys, as well as its configuration of 13 airbags, it specifically reinforces the structural integrity of the third-row seating area in this MPV.
