China Auto Industry Service Platform to Launch International Exchange Activities in Germany in 2026

In July 2026, Zhou Xiaoying, head of China’s Automotive Industry Information Service Platform, traveled to Germany to participate in a series of industry exchange activities. These included attending the EU-China Automotive Industry Cooperation Salon and the 2026 Stuttgart International Symposium on Automotive Technology, where she delivered a keynote speech titled “The Next Chapter for China’s Automotive Industry: From Scale Advantage to System-Level Innovation.” Her presentation systematically outlined the pathway for China’s automotive industry to transition from scale-driven advantages to system-level innovation, focusing on trends such as electrification, intelligentization, and supply chain collaboration. She analyzed key drivers behind enhanced industrial innovation capabilities and explored new opportunities for Sino-European cooperation. During a roundtable forum at the Stuttgart symposium, Zhou engaged in discussions with representatives from ZF Group, Mahle Group, Hoosier Power, and the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg on the topic “How to Combine China’s Momentum in Automotive Development with Germany’s Precision and Rigor.” Participants agreed that China excels in innovation efficiency, market responsiveness, and user-centric approaches, while Germany possesses deep expertise in engineering technology, product quality, and brand heritage. Both sides identified significant potential for deeper collaboration in digital transformation, technological innovation, and industrial synergy. Beyond conference participation, Zhou visited companies including Bofu Electronics, Joyson Electronics Europe, and Mann+Hummel, exchanging views on European market trends, localization strategies, AI applications, green and low-carbon development, and global supply chain coordination. She also met with the European team of China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC), reaching preliminary consensus on international cooperation, industry research, and joint forum initiatives during IAA Mobility. In recent years, the platform has consistently served as a bridge for Sino-foreign automotive industry exchanges. In September 2024, it co-organized a China-Thailand automotive industry delegation with Thailand’s Tilleke & Gibbins law firm, visiting local operations of SAIC Motor-Charoen Pokphand, GAC Aion, Great Wall Motor, and assessing the investment environment of Rayong Industrial Park. In April 2025, the platform hosted a specialized seminar in Detroit, USA, and participated in the FISITA World Congress on Mobility; concurrently, during IAA Mobility 2025, it co-hosted the Eurasia Automotive Innovation Forum with A2MAC1 under the guidance of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). In 2026, the platform partnered with CMIC International to organize the 4th China Automotive & Components Global Expansion Ecosystem Conference, releasing the “2026 White Paper on China’s Automotive Industry Going Global” and co-authoring “Going Global: Practices and Strategies of China’s Automotive Industry” with NIO Europe’s leadership. Additionally, it arranged visits for Chinese suppliers to Volvo’s headquarters in Sweden, hosted the Jaguar Land Rover China Supplier Conference, and participated in the “China Smart Mobility Innovation Tour” series. In April 2026, senior executives from Volkswagen Brazil visited the platform to discuss trends in China’s automotive industry and prospects for global collaboration.
