Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door to Get New High-Performance Model Above 63 Variant

Mercedes-AMG is developing a high-performance variant of the GT four-door coupe based on the new AMG.EA platform, positioned above the existing 63 model. Recently spotted prototypes feature light camouflage and reveal more prominent aerodynamic elements, including an aggressive front splitter, a vented engine hood, a fixed rear wing, and an increased-height rear spoiler. The new model is expected to retain the current GT four-door coupe’s interior layout, featuring a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central infotainment screen, and a 14-inch passenger display. It will likely come standard with an AMG Performance steering wheel and sport seats. In terms of powertrain, the new model is anticipated to build upon the existing 63 version. The current GT 55 features three axial-flux electric motors producing a combined output of 805 hp (600 kW) and peak torque of 1,798 N·m. With the optional High Performance Package, it accelerates from 0–96 km/h in 2.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 299 km/h. The GT 63 delivers a combined output of 1,153 hp (860 kW) and peak torque of 1,998 N·m, achieving 0–96 km/h in just 2.3 seconds, also with a top speed of 299 km/h. The upcoming model will be equipped with a 106 kWh battery pack, though specific performance figures have not yet been disclosed.
