BYD has surpassed 130,000 cumulative deliveries of new energy vehicles in the Thai market. Meanwhile, its Thailand plant located in WHA Eastern Industrial Estate, Rayong Province, marked its second anniversary of production and officially launched the new BYD SEALION 5 DM-i model. This facility is BYD’s first overseas passenger vehicle manufacturing base, with an annual designed capacity of 150,000 units. It currently localizes production of five models: BYD DOLPHIN, BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEAL 5 DM-i, BYD SEALION 5 DM-i, and BYD SEALION 6 DM-i—all of which have received the “Made in Thailand” (MiT) certification from the Federation of Thai Industries. Over the past two years since production began, the plant has created more than 5,000 jobs, with Thai nationals accounting for approximately 93% of its workforce and local parts procurement reaching 50%. The 130,000th vehicle delivered was the BYD SEALION 5 DM-i, and the pre-sale price for its Standard version was announced simultaneously.
