On July 16, 2026, the automotive industry held six new vehicle launch events, including the debut of the Wey V9X Family Edition with its 1.5T super hybrid powertrain, the market launch of the all-new Leapmotor B01 and B10 models, the introduction of the IM LS9 Hyper, the global launch of the XPeng MONA L03, the unveiling of the next-generation Li Auto L6, and the official market release of the Wuling Xingguang L. On the same day, Geely Galaxy also unveiled its “Thunderbolt 16-in-1 Intelligent Electric Drive” technology, while GAC Group hosted a customer appreciation event celebrating its 30 million users. During a media session following the Leapmotor B01/B10 launch event, Xu Jun, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor, remarked that the unusually high concentration of launches on a single day reflects the intense competition currently gripping the industry—an intensity far exceeding even that of the smartphone sector where he previously worked. He added that if automakers can foster healthy competition and learn from one another, it would significantly advance the overall development of China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry and enhance their collective success in global markets.
