BYD Qin MAX Midsize Sedan Launches Soon with PHEV and EV Options

BYD’s Dynasty Network is set to launch the all-new midsize sedan, the Qin MAX, positioned above the current Qin L and primarily targeting younger consumers. The vehicle measures 4,866 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm—slightly longer than the Qin L—to enhance rear passenger space. The interior adopts a minimalist design, featuring a dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an embedded digital instrument cluster, a floating central touchscreen, and a two-tier lower dashboard that integrates ample storage space and a 50W wireless charging pad. Powertrain options include both DM-i plug-in hybrid and all-electric variants. The EV version comes with either a 120 kW or 240 kW electric motor and features BYD’s proprietary flash-charging technology as standard across all trims. The plug-in hybrid variant pairs a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a 175 kW drive motor. In BYD’s product lineup, the Qin MAX will replace the Qin L’s all-electric models, with the Qin L gradually being phased out. The new model is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, with a price tag under RMB 150,000, aiming to fill the brand’s gap in the B-segment sedan market.
