On July 17, BYD launched a new variant of the second-generation Denza D9 plug-in hybrid—the "Flash Charge Luxury Edition"—priced at RMB 329,800. The D9 series was initially launched on April 27 with six models priced between RMB 359,800 and RMB 459,800. The new model features a redesigned front fascia with the π-Motion diamond-cut styling, offering a more layered and three-dimensional grille. The side profile retains its sleek, elongated proportions, while the rear is equipped with full-width arrow-feather LED taillights featuring a multi-layered, three-dimensional lighting structure that enhances the vehicle's visual width. The vehicle measures 5,250 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,900 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Powering the plug-in hybrid variant is a hybrid system combining a 1.5T engine with dual motors (front and rear). The engine delivers a maximum output of 115 kW, the front motor produces up to 200 kW, and the rear motor offers 45 kW. The vehicle is equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, providing a CLTC-rated all-electric range exceeding 400 km. It also supports flash charging technology and achieves a fuel consumption of 6.35 L/100 km in low-battery (depleted) conditions.
